Stitch Fix #7 - July 2015 Fix (I needed another one!)

That time I needed a second box two weeks later (it was bound to happen at some point).  I just couldn't wait a month for another 'fix' and since I only kept one item from my last fix, I treated myself to 'Stitchmas' in July (again).  I am desperate for a new maxi dress this summer, and I requested one again for this fix.

In case you have not heard of Stitch Fix, it's a personal styling program that's takes your input to create a style profile for $20 each time you want a "fix".  I currently have mine set up for monthly.  If you keep one or more items the $20 fee is subtracted from the balance due. As a bonus, if you buy all five items they send you, they give you a 25% discount which can be pretty great if you love everything they send!!

Ok.  Here are the details of my seventh box from Stitch Fix:

1) MARKET & SPRUCE Callen Crochet Sleeve Dress ($58)
2) PIXLEY Mirado Lasercut Detail Blouse ($58)
3) MARKET & SPRUCE Jahana Cargo Vest ($68)
4) PAPERMOON Violeta Scallop Detail Blouse ($44)
5) SKIES ARE BLUE Giselle Woven Maxi Skirt ($64)

So, here is how I decided which items to keep:

MARKET & SPRUCE Callen Crochet Sleeve Dress ($58)
A beautiful dress for under $60!?!  How awesome!!!  Truth be known, I dislike dresses with a tie at the waist, so unfortunately I sent this one back even though the color was beautiful!  The detail on the sleeves is such a nice touch!

  Verdict: GOING BACK

PIXLEY Mirado Lasercut Detail Blouse ($58)
This blouse is an amazing cobalt blue color and the laser cut detail is so unique!  I am so close to keeping this one, but I am not sure I can justify the $58 price tag.  I feel like if this shirt was $44 it would be more appropriate.  I am undecided on this one because the quality is so nice!!!

  Verdict: UNDECIDED

MARKET & SPRUCE Jahana Cargo Vest ($68) and SKIES ARE BLUE Giselle Woven Maxi Skirt ($64)
I have been desperate for a cargo vest and I have been harassing my stylist to send me one.  I am just not sure that this is the 'one' I have been looking for.  It has a hood that can be unzipped at the neckline which is GREAT and it gathers at the waist which is also a feature I really liked!  I just wasn't sure about the fit on me.

This maxi skirt is a gorgeous bright pink that I love.  However, I don't like the style of maxi skirts/dresses where the lining is only halfway down the skirt.  If it is lined, I would prefer it is lined all the way down.  I will advise my stylist of this going forward.

Verdict Cargo Vest: GOING BACK
Verdict Maxi Skirt:  GOING BACK

PAPERMOON Violeta Scallop Detail Blouse ($44)
Again with the amazement - only $44 for this gorgeous blouse???  The back is so super cute I can't take it!  I was going to keep this FOR SURE, however the XS they sent me was too tight around the armpits and they had none in stock to exchange.  (sigh)

(front)

(back)

The back of this top is like a mullet.  Total party.   I think I might ask for it again in future fixes because this one might haunt me.

  Verdict: GOING BACK

Stitch Fix #6 - July 2015

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend!  What better way to liven up the Monday after a holiday than with a "fix" waiting for you at your doorstep!  I wish I could pretend that it just showed up there all cute and cuddly and I had TOTALLY forgotten it was coming....um yeah...that's not me.  I look forward to these little boxes so much that I could never forget about them!  My stylist Adilah really listened to me last month and I had a good feeling going into this box that there were going to be several new 'pretties' in my closet.

How do they know what they pick for you will fit?  It's magic, I am sure of it.  So far the two pair of jeans I have purchased from Stitch Fix fit me better than ANY pair I have tried on in a store and purchased for myself.

Ok.  Here are the details of my fifth box from Stitch Fix that my stylist (or fairy god-stylist) chose for me:

1) RENEE C Edmondo Stud Detailed Split-Back Blouse ($38)
2) PIXLEY Ashton Crochet Lace Kimono ($48)
3) DANIEL RAINN Sicily Pintuck Detail Silk Blouse ($78)
4) 41HAWTHORN Lanza Scallop Trim Blazer ($84)
5) RENEE C Melisa Skirt ($48)

So, here is how I decided which items to keep:

RENEE C Edmondo Stud Detailed Split-Back Blouse ($38)
This top was a very pretty color and I love some split-back style blouses so I was glad she included it for me to try, however, I just didn't love the way this one fell on me. It has a little studded neckline which I wasn't sure about once I tried it on.  I think I will try to pin a different one and give it a shot again.

  Verdict: GOING BACK

PIXLEY Ashton Crochet Lace Kimono ($48)
This kimono is so pretty and feminine and just fits me perfectly.  The detail on the back is so so pretty!   I know how easy this will be to throw on with a tank and distressed jeans this summer to have a casual boho feel and I LOVE it!

  Verdict: GET IN MY CLOSET!

DANIEL RAINN Sicily Pintuck Detail Silk Blouse ($78)
This blouse is absolutely gorgeous.  Gorgeous detail, gorgeous color (I have been dying for something COBALT!!!)  I just am not sure that its the correct size on me.  What I might do is ask my stylist to send me an XS instead of a small because it felt a bit loose around the chest area.

  Verdict: UNDECIDED

41HAWTHORN Lanza Scallop Trim Blazer ($84) paired with
RENEE  C Melisa Skirt ($48)
This blazer fit perfectly.  The scallop trim added so much character and shape to the blazer that I almost considered keeping it, but it is a long sleeved lined blazer and I am just trying to replenish my closet with summer pieces at this point, so I opted to send it back (maybe it if had been a different color I would have reconsidered).

I had pinned the Melisa skirt to my Pinterest board and this goes to show that my stylist actually looks at that (thank you!!!)  Unfortunately, it fit a bit snug for my taste because the pattern is dynamite!

  Verdict skirt: GOING BACK
  Verdict blazer: GOING BACK
